Religion Presbyterian Church members, group friends and household attended the ultimate worship service by the Reverend Mike Campbell and the Reverend Sheryl Campbell April 7. These attending included Sheryl’s mom, Evie Guthrie, of Solar Metropolis West, and her sisters, Linda Pasquarell, of Richmond, VA, and Sue Larson, together with her husband Mark, from Alburquerque, NM.
The Campbells started their ministry at Religion Church Oct. 9, 2017 the place they acquired a heat welcome with pom poms waving. Sheryl was affiliate pastor and director of music. Mike was senior pastor and head of workers. Throughout their practically seven years of service, they welcomed many new members and guests to Religion Presbyterian Church.
Their musical skills enhanced worship providers with choir, bell choir, piano and flute. In addition they produced performs, skits and particular vacation applications, sermons and messages. Through the Covid pandemic, when most church buildings have been closed, the pastors discovered a strategy to broadcast sermons and music by use of Sheryl’s mobile phone strapped to a tripod. The sermons and music have been filmed throughout the week within the sanctuary and proven on YouTube on Sunday.
Their closing worship service April 7 included music like “Be Thou My Imaginative and prescient” with Sheryl on the flute and Pasquarell on the soprano saxophone. They have been accompanied by Mike on the piano. “On Eagles Wings” featured Mike on the piano and Sheryl on the flute, a particular association for the congregation.
There have been two sermons that day and Sheryl’s was titled “YuBeWig,” which means a backwards “Goodbye or God be with you.” Mike’s final sermon was titled “There’s a Time,” quoting Ecclesiastes 3:1-11: “A time to weep and a time to chuckle…”
Following the worship service, the congregation, associates, kin and honored friends left for Illingworth Corridor the place this system started. Opening remarks have been spoken by the occasion coordinator Elder Ann Kennaly . The blessing was given by Reverend Gloria Sannermark-Hatcher. The catered lunch for greater than 160 individuals was ready by Ron and Jane Coughlin, longtime Religion caterers.
Following lunch, there was a video titled “7 Years in 7 Minutes,” produced by Elder Linda St. Pierre with photographs by Mary Autio. Pastors Mike and Sheryl mirrored on their years at Religion and thanked the congregation and guests for his or her steady help.
This system concluded with remarks and reflections by St. Pierre and Deacon Gerri Crothers. A present basket organized by workers, members, friends and household was offered Mike and Sheryl by Gerri Crothers.
