Relations of the late former President Jimmy Carter paid their respects at a ceremony held in Atlanta, Georgia, which centered on his charitable group, the Carter Middle.

“While I strongly disagreed with him philosophically and politically, I also realized that he truly loved and respected our Country, and all it stands for,” stated Trump. “He was a very good man and, in fact, will probably be significantly missed. In addition to the service in Atlanta, Carter’s remains will lie in repose at the center before being transported to Washington, D.C., to lie in state at the U.S. Capitol from Jan. 7-8.
A service of remembrance will also be held at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington at 10 a.m. Eastern time on Thursday before a final private family service held later that day in Georgia.
