Church, Dr. Robert Lewis
Dr. Robert Lewis Church, age 82 of Wayland, Michigan, walked on with the Lord on Sunday, July 28. He was preceded in dying by his mother and father Rev. Lewis “White Eagle” and Gladys (Mamagona) Church and siblings William Church and Francis Church-Pratt.
Robert is survived by his spouse of 44 years, Liane (Krieglemann) Church; sons Michael and Thomas (Marcy) Church; step-daughter, Marie (William) Sears; 4 grandchildren; and brother, Richard (Mary) Church; sister-in-law Cheryl G. Church.
Robert was a caring man, father, husband, avid golfer, and lifelong member of the Salem Indian Mission Church. He was born in Hopkins, Michigan, and graduated from Hopkins Public Faculty. Bob excelled in his teachers and in his favourite sport, soccer. Throughout his younger grownup life, he traveled throughout america in pursuit of his training. Robert was the eldest member of the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Want Band of Potawatomi Indians on the time of his passing.
All the time a helper and healer, Robert was the primary Native American graduate in 1969 from the College of Michigan Faculty of Pharmacy with a Physician of Pharmacy. Robert retired from Spectrum Medical Heart (often known as Corewell Well being) in Grand Rapids.
Visitation with Robert’s household and pals might be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 31 at Luella Collins Group Heart, 419 126th Ave., Shelbyville, Michigan 49344. A celebration of Robert’s life might be held 10 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Bradley Indian Mission Church, 695 128th Ave., Shelbyville, Michigan 49344.
