Corridor Aflame, the rock band which options Metallic Church founding guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof, launched their sophomore album, Amplifire, on Could 3 by way of Rat Pak Information. Try a video for the monitor “1974”:
Initially shaped in 1989, the band garnered industrial success with their debut album, Assured Perpetually, which was nicely obtained by followers and business friends alike and rapidly discovered themselves opening for ZZ Prime on their 1991 Recycler tour for a variety of dates. As with many bands from that period, dealing with a decline in curiosity for AOR rock because of the onslaught of the “grunge” scene, the band went on a prolonged hiatus and reunited once more in late 2023 to start engaged on a handful of songs.
Amplifier affords 12 new studio tracks and reunites Kurdt with authentic bassist Brian Smith, together with drummer Invoice Raymond and front-man Scott Nutter.
Relating to the album, Kurdt Vanderhoof feedback, “This album took place as a challenge to doc all of the songs that we had written for the second album that by no means got here to be. We revisited the songs and realized they needed to be recorded correctly. Then it blossomed into one thing a lot better than we had even hoped! Tracks like “Ripcord”, “In The Same Gutter”, “It Ain’t Enough” and “Gunnin’” are full of memorable hooks and melodies, whereas songs like “Pullin Me Apart” and “1974” showcase their distinctive, basic rock songwriting skills. With influences that vary from Unhealthy Firm to Skinny Lizzy, Amplifire is greatest described as the right mix of basic rock with a modern-day edge.
